Effective date: May 19, 2026 Snappin (“Snappin,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile app that helps users align map images, create waypoints, save Snappacks, and use map-based tools in the field. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to users.

1. Who We Are

Snappin is operated independantly by the developer of the app Ruimeng Pang.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Snappin, we may collect the following categories of information:

A. Account and Profile Information

• Account identifier associated with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In
• Email address provided by Apple or Google, including Apple’s private relay email if selected by the user
• Username selected by the user or generated by the app
• Profile photo uploaded by the user

B. Map and App Content

• Map overlays, imported map images, PDFs, alignment data, pinned map positions, and associated metadata
• Saved Snappacks and related export/share metadata
• Waypoints, labels, categories, geofences, line features, and alert settings

C. Device and Usage Information

• Basic app and device information required for authentication, storage, synchronization, security, troubleshooting, and service operation
• Purchase or entitlement status needed to manage paid features or credits

D. Location Information

• Precise device location when you grant location permission
• Background or ongoing location updates only to the extent needed for map positioning, waypoint alerts, geofence-related features, and field navigation functionality

E. Notifications

• Notification permission status
• Notification preferences and alert settings associated with waypoint or geofence-related features

F. Offline and Local Storage

• Data stored locally on your device, such as cached map tiles, offline maps, recent settings, and temporary or saved app content

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

• Directly from you when you create an account, sign in, upload a profile photo, save map content, create waypoints, or contact us
• Automatically from your device and app usage when needed to provide functionality such as location-based alerts, storage, syncing, or entitlement checks
• From third-party identity and infrastructure providers you choose to use with the app

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage user accounts
• Authenticate users with Apple or Google
• Save, sync, restore, and share Snappacks and other user-created content
• Display and manage uploaded profile photos and usernames
• Provide map alignment, waypoint, geofence, and notification features
• Support offline map use and cached map behavior
• Process purchases, credits, subscriptions, or entitlement checks
• Maintain app security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot issues
• Respond to support requests and account deletion requests
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal information.

5. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Snappin. These providers may process data only as needed to provide services to us and must protect the information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. Current categories of providers may include:

• Authentication providers, including Apple and Google
• Cloud database, storage, and authentication infrastructure providers
• Payment, subscription, or purchase infrastructure providers
• Map and related infrastructure providers, where applicable

If we add analytics, advertising, or additional third-party SDKs that collect user data, we will update this Privacy Policy and our App Store privacy disclosures accordingly.

6. Location Data

Snappin uses location data to support core map functionality, such as:

• showing your position on the map
• helping align map overlays in context
• supporting waypoint and geofence-related alerts
• improving navigation utility while using saved field content

You can control location permissions in your device settings. If you deny location access, some features may not work or may be limited.

7. Photos, Files, and User Content

If you choose to upload a profile photo or import map images or PDFs, we use that content only to provide app features such as profile display, map overlay alignment, syncing, and saving Snappacks. If you delete your account, we will also delete user content associated with your account from our active systems, subject to limited retention described below.

8. Notifications

Snappin requests notification permission in context when you enable or use features that rely on alerts, such as waypoint-related notifications. You can disable notifications in your device settings or in app controls where available.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the app and its features
• maintain your account
• preserve saved content you choose to keep
• comply with legal obligations
• resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the security and integrity of the service

Local device data, including cached maps and offline content, may remain on your device until you remove it, clear cache, uninstall the app, or delete your account, depending on the data type.

10. Account Deletion and User Choices

You can initiate account deletion from within the app. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the account information and associated user content stored in our active systems, except where limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. You may also:

• edit your username and profile photo in the app
• revoke app permissions in your device settings
• stop using Sign in with Apple or Google and delete your account if you no longer want data retained

11. Children’s Privacy

Snappin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and address the issue.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International Data Transfers

Depending on your location and the services we use, information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own. Where required, we take appropriate steps to protect information in accordance with applicable law.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app or website.
